However, I immediately went to the Internet and looked up our alternate property. When first informed that my vacation was being moved from another resort to the Samba I was disheartened. The service was absolutely average and the language barrier was so great that a hotel employee had to enter a room next to ours, climb out the window, jump to our balcony to enter our room and unlatch our door because he was unable to articulate in English, “Pull latch, then slide.” Four words of English could have saved us. While I was one of three guests in our room, I planned on a queen size sofa sleeper in the sitting area, and instead slept in a very narrow rollaway bed shoved up against the two beds in the room. My friends and I were stunned to learn there was no spa no workout room on resort and no kitchen, sofa or sitting area afforded us in our room. What, then, has taken place since the Solare became the Samba? Not much. My understanding is the Samba was purchased by Pueblo Bonito over a year ago. While not a lot is written concerning the Samba property I did find the wonderful Pueblo Bonito overview and was immediately put at ease to learn I would be staying in a property affording me beauty, style, gracious surroundings and great food.
